I was looking for something to cook for Paulo~ spotted a butter squash (peeled), chicken breast, and to add color a broccoli. Since Paulo's taste is different from mine I have to re-invent my cooking which sometime goes to extremes, like vegetable with much broth. My father had always something to say the way I cook vegetables. I like it crispy, he wants it overcooked and with minimal broth, sooo different with Paulo~ it's just the way he likes it...
nice blog and pictures!
ReplyDeletechicken soup brings gladness to the soul, so they say. when somebody at home has flu or cold chicken soup is always the handy remedy. i think it is the combination of nutritious elements in the onions, ginger, vegetables and chicken all mixed in the soup that makes it a cure-all! First, i boil the chicken pieces with sliced onions and a bit of ginger, it's even nicer with lemon-grass (the pinoy way) till the meat is tender, then i add in the vegetables and boil further according to how soft/crunchy you want them to be, add a pinch of salt or patis and it's ready to go....
thanks! i'm pretty sure we prepare chicken soup almost the same way but everytime i tried it here seems there is something missing...its not like back home~could it be the way chicken is being feed here or freshly dressed chicken makes the difference?
